Sarah came over on Wednesday to hang out with her friend from high school. She spent the night and hung out with me on Thursday. While the other kids were in school on Thursday, I had the chance to spend an hour or so with both Sarah and James and I really enjoyed myself. They get along really well and I can see how much they love each other, even if they annoy each other from time time. It's been a while since it was just the three of us and I realized yesterday just how much I missed that.
While they were growing up, it was just the three of us for most of the time. Sometimes their dad was around, but more often than not, it was just us. We have a very special bond that I don't think I stop and appreciate often enough. They make me laugh, a lot. I am thankful for the kids that they were, even though the oftentimes made me want to scream (and I did, I assure you), but I'm extremely happy with the people they have become (even though they still make me want to scream).
Don't get me wrong, I love my little guys too and enjoy spending time with them, but there is just something special about my relationship with Sarah & James that I will always treasure and remember fondly.
